Aideen writes: “Having been born with Cerebral Palsy, I am a passionate disability campaigner, trainer and writer. After studying Business Management at Oxford Brookes University, I went on to work in the third sector as a project co-ordinator supporting disabled and disadvantaged people into employment and training opportunities. I successfully worked and built partnerships with private, public and third sector organisations to create opportunities for my clients.

In 2012, I decided to leave my role to start up my own business – Flyinglady Training and Consultancy with the aim of providing disability and equality training, as well as delivering disability awareness sessions in primary schools which is something I’m really passionate about.  I also offer support to secondary school pupils with Cerebral Palsy in a mentoring role. I was Trustee and Chair of Cerebral Palsy Sport from 2016-2019 and used my background in the third sector to help stabilise the charity after a turbulent period.

In 2015, I self-published my autobiography – “Does it wet the bed?” – which is my story of living a life with Cerebral Palsy and the ups, downs and comical stories! I also write a blog and my aim is always to raise awareness of disability and support others who may be facing similar challenges. In 2013, I researched and published a report focused on disability access in my local area – attracting business and media attention.”
